With a market cap of $157.6 billion, Wells Fargo has surpassed JP Morgan to become the largest U.S. bank. Of course, that’s important in the Raleigh and Durham markets because Wachovia, which has been a market share monster here, is being absorbed by Wells

Kane Realty released a list of several new merchants – including a massage spa, a surf shop and an olive oil store – that will be opening at the North Hills mixed-use development over the next several weeks.

- Description: Local owners, Ed and Bethany Perkins will offer a wide selection of olive oils and vinegars stored in stainless steel containers called fustis, making it possible to create your own flavor combinations.

- Location: Between Comfortable Soles and Varsity Men’s Wear
- Opening: November
- Description: Raleigh’s Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston is a residential real estate brokerage.
Hayley’s Boutique
- Location: Between Firebirds and Comfortable Soles
- Opening: November
- Description: Initially opened in the Five Points neighborhood in April 2008, Hayley’s is a locally owned boutique selling clothing and jewelry.
Whalebone Urban Surf
- Location: Next to Gena Chandler
- Opening: November
- Description: The iconic Outer Banks Whalebone Surf Shop, owned by Jim and April Vaughn, is making landfall at North Hills under the direction of their daughter, Stevi Vaughn. While the shop will sell surfboard, skateboards and paddleboards, the main focus is on casual clothing by brands such as Billabong.
